Jake was on the Home Shopping Network touting the Ab Scissor Ultra. The equipment looked interesting as it was cheap ~250 and looked like it might work. It featured people reportedly trying the machine at the mall and reporting the same message “Its easy” and “It works” . The people looked average and of various body types which lends an air of credibility to the ad, as if to say look they say its easy and they are like you.
Shopping it curious that an excercise can be easy and effective but thats me.

I really like the infomercial though because there is no screaming and high pressure sales.

Last night I caught the RONCO Knife set commercial. I had seen this numerous times over the years but this was the first I paid attention. If you haven’t seen it Ron presents a series of knives tells you that he sells them all for twenty dollars or more individually and the sum total worth of the knives is some astronomical number. Then repeatedly you get to find out that you… YES YOU !!! Can own them for the simple price of three easy payments of thirteen dollars and thirty three cents.

I think Ron has some seriously kickass markups on those individual knives.

Picture a bunch of middle aged women mixed in with a few twenty somethings doing some strange hip hop yoga ballet combination. Then thrown in the mix is an over the top voice proclaiming how several women lost weight and reshaped their bodies intermixed with the word BOOTY. The imagery really made me chuckle.
